Which aggregate size produces the strongest concrete?
To achieve high-strength concrete, coarse aggregates are held to a maximum size of 19 mm, but additional cement must be used for the additional surface area. Due to the high cement content, fine aggregate contains less material that passes through 300-um and 150 um sieves.
How much does a ton of aggregate cover?
If you wish to apply aggregates to a 50-millimetre depth (the average depth for a driveway), 1 tonne will cover about 14 square metres. For pedestrian walkways, 35 millimetres is usually enough; in this case, 1 tonne will cover approximately 20 square metres.
Does landscaping add value to a home?
The value of your house can increase by tens of thousands of dollars via landscaping. It is one of the few home renovations you can do that rises in value over time and adds value right away. Plants become fuller and more resilient over time, but interior design and décor trends change often, and mechanical systems age.
How to maintain an aggregate driveway?
Use hot water, a power washer, and a commercial concrete-safe cleaner/de-greaser. The hot water will lift the oil from the surface, and the de-greaser will break it up into small particles so that it washes away. A stiff-bristled brush is useful for hard-to-remove stains.
Is aggregate concrete slippery?
Exposed aggregate is often used in residential properties and is popular in public spaces. No matter what age a person is, it is safe to walk around because it is non-slippery.
